The Client
Assurity is a rapidly-growing, New Zealand owned company with offices in Wellington, Auckland and Christchurch. Assurity’s driven team assists organisations and businesses in embracing new technology so that they’re able to innovate the products they create and develop a high-performance culture.
Challenge
Assurity’s existing website was only three years old, however, the company is well-known for keeping up with the pace of change. A new marketing strategy and direction required a new design too. Assurity’s Marketing Director had previously owned a design agency and had a keen eye for good design. He knew what direction he wanted the new website to take and requested a ‘masonry grid’ or ‘blog’ style homepage, striking modern typography and stylish staff photography to highlight Assurity’s friendly team.
Approach
I worked closely with Assurity’s Marketing Director, Digital Content Manager and Web Developer to create a series of draft designs matching their specifications.
The most challenging part of the project was achieving the client’s specific vision and ensuring that the new design worked seamlessly across different devices. It was also important that the new website was easy to update via the CMS. This required thorough research and regular liaison with the web developer.
The ‘masonry grid’ style is currently hugely popular, so I aimed to create a style and feel that’s unique to Assurity. I created designs for all main pages as well as a modified design for the micro-sites.
The final design included a brighter, fresher colour palette. I created new brand guidelines and the project was extended to include all of Assurity’s digital and print marketing materials.
Impact
The team was thrilled with the new look and feel for the company. Assurity continues to go from strength to strength and has recently won several large contracts.
